Hera Sweaters Limited marked its Annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Day on 25 July 2026, welcoming distinguished delegates from the health and education sectors to join the company's management team and workforce for a day dedicated to environmental care, community welfare, and the celebration of academic achievement.
The day began with the Annual Tree Plantation Programmed, as the visiting delegates formally opened proceedings by planting the first saplings within the factory premises, setting a fitting tone for the day ahead. Members of the management team and factory workers then came together for a mass plantation drive, putting saplings into the ground both within the factory grounds and across the surrounding community. It was heartening to see employees at every level taking part, helping to extend green cover well beyond the factory's own boundaries and reaffirming the company's ongoing commitment to a more sustainable environment.
From the plantation grounds, the delegation moved on to the pond within the factory premises, where fish fingerlings were gently released into the water to help restore local aquatic life. The same spirit carried through to the nearby canals, where further fingerlings were released. Together, these efforts
were aimed at supporting local biodiversity and strengthening the livelihoods of the surrounding community, many of whom depend on these waterways for their daily lives.
The day's celebrations then came to a warm and moving close with a Recognition Award Ceremony honoring the children of Hera Sweaters employees who had achieved a GPA of 5 in Bangladesh's national board examinations. As each worker and their child were called forward, the ceremony took on a deeply personal character, celebrating not only academic success but the quiet sacrifices that had made it possible.
When workers were invited to share a few words about the experience, one moment touched everyone present. A father employed at Hera Sweaters, standing proudly beside his son, found himself overcome with emotion as he tried to put into words what the day meant to him. Years of hard work and quiet sacrifice, he said, had led to this moment — one in which he and his son were being recognized together for the struggle behind his son's achievement.
