HERA Sweaters Limited, a well-known name in the garments and knitwear industry, is starting an exciting new chapter. It is built on fresh leadership, renewed purpose, and a genuinely people-first way of doing business. The company recently said a warm farewell to its former Managing Director, Md. Mostaqur Rahman, whose years of dedicated service laid a solid foundation for HERA's continued growth.
Sarwar Ahmed has now taken the helm as Managing Director. He is widely respected for his integrity and his unwavering commitment to putting people first. He is joined by Directors Samantha Rahman and Samantha Sarwar, who both bring fresh thinking and genuine empathy to the organisation. This new leadership trio has hit the ground running: HERA's marketing and production operations have been back in full swing since March 2026.
One moment has already come to define this new era. Managing Director Sarwar Ahmed visited the finishing floor in person to speak candidly with the workforce. His words struck a chord with everyone there, and people are still talking about them:
"I have joined the factory with an idea for the coming years, built on all your efforts and hard work. If the factory runs profitably, we as directors will not take any income, but will instead reinvest in the development of the factory, as well as build an English medium school for our workers' children and may also arrange funding for their tertiary education."
The response from the workforce was immediate and heartfelt, a clear sign that HERA's new leadership is not just talking about change. They are living it.
On the international front, Ms Sarwar, as Marketing Director, has quickly made HERA a credible, competitive name in global apparel sourcing. Since taking on the role, she has attended numerous national and international RMG expos, representing the company to buyers, sourcing agents, and industry figures from around the world.
She has already made her mark at two of the industry's biggest platforms: Texworld Apparel Sourcing NYC and Fashion SVP London. Looking back on one standout conversation at Texworld NYC, she said:
"I met a sourcing agent whose brand was searching for a reliable green manufacturing partner. It was the perfect opportunity to introduce HERA and share our commitment to sustainable production, quality craftsmanship, and on-time delivery. Our GOLD-LEED certified factory is more than just a green factory; it reflects our dedication to building lasting partnerships through consistency, transparency, and dependable execution."
Ms Sarwar also leads the product development team, keeping it closely tuned to buyer needs and shifting demand across the readymade garment sector.
Meanwhile, Ms Rahman oversees production, pricing, audit and compliance. From day one, she has taken a hands-on approach, gathering production updates, spotting operational gaps, and turning data into clear, practical decisions. She has already built a comprehensive pricing model and put together a focused three-month development strategy, both aimed at strengthening HERA from the ground up. She is now working on a robust planning and traceability structure to make production smoother and more efficient.
Speaking to the management team with her characteristic directness at a recent production meeting, she laid out her plans clearly:
"We will move forward not only with smart marketing but also with a structured production process. It is no secret that this factory has many areas for improvement, but first things first: we need a strong planning department that maintains a constant reporting structure. At the same time, a factory cannot progress in the long run without improving its financial standing, so we must also look closely at our pricing strategy. If we continue working as we are now, this factory will have a changed and positive future within the next six months."
With a leadership team that pairs commercial ambition with genuine compassion, HERA Sweaters Limited looks set to write one of the more compelling turnaround stories in Bangladesh's ready-made garments sector.
